When you book an appointment with me you will most likely meet my beautiful girl Moon Shadow. Her gift is to help those around her experience her calmness.

We are a Certified Advanced Therapy Dog Team. We have also completed our Master Class certification in Mental Health Trauma,  trained and registered with Lead the Way Institute AustraliaMoon Shadow attends group workshops and can attend private sessions if you wish. All you need to do is ask and she will be there at no extra expense to you.

Animal Assisted Psychotherapy interventions may enable new

experiences  of trust to develop, building a stronger sense of self while

lowering a stress hormone, cortisol levels, blood pressure and heart rate.

Part of the work that Moon Shadow and I do, is supporting people who

experience Cynophobia (Fear of Dogs).Animal Assisted Psychotherapy can alleviate Cynophobia (Fear of Dogs) though CBT, psychotherapy and gentle exposure therapy.  We use relaxation and self regulation techniques to build resilience to enable a healthy relationship with our fear responses. We then practice our new skills while exploring our story.

Through careful, sensitive and supported exposure, using words, pictures,

video footage, sounds and our fluffy helpers, an introduction to dogs can

take place. Anxiety may be alleviated using our new skills, leading to full

exposure with Moon Shadow the Therapy Dog and the joy of being with a

calm and contented dog.

Moon Shadow loves a cuddle and a pat and always looks forward to playing games, but Therapy Dogs differ to comfort animals. We may also engage in interventions that enhance relationships, trust, bonding, assertiveness and consistency of self care which, you might choose to practice in your every day life.  Together we may enable changes, allowing the flexibility of our boundaries to become more suitable to our needs.

You can be assured by our continuous training and regular re-certification, that Moon Shadow is a calm, highly trained dog who is  temperament assessed. You can witness her calmness in this Documentary about therapy dogs.

Moon Shadow the Therapy Dog and I can assist with, Trauma interventions by engaging in outdoor activities such as Walk and Talk therapy at Altona Beach, Cherry Lake and the many other parks in the precinct and by accompanying you on a trip to Bunnings to Aid Social Anxiety while we explore the wide variety of craft, gardening, building and many other creative inspirations that may help with your healing process.
